April also saw the end of my two callings at church-putting together the weekly bulletin and being in the nursery. I was pretty done with the bulletin, but I still miss the nursery kids. I was called to be the Sunday School teacher to the 17-year-olds in our ward. As soon as I was asked, I felt the intimidation leak in. It took me a good month to get used to it, but I'm finally getting the hang of it. The kids in our ward are just so smart and faithful and mature in the gospel. It's actually pretty cool to be a part of and I'm excited to continue to be able to learn from them. A week-and-a-half after Tanner left, Rachel came to visit. She was able to catch a ride with a couple of her roommates who were headed home to Santa Clarita. This is sadly the only picture I have from the weekend, but we had a really good time. It made me miss her living with us a whole lot.
I also found this horrible picture of me from when I was home having my last wisdom tooth removed. This happened in February and I briefly talked about it in a previous post. When I was 22, I had 3 of 4 of them removed, but my lower left was too close to my nerve and my dr felt like I had too high of a chance of having permanent numbness if he removed it then. Over the last few years, it has slowly pushed it's way up, and after a series of x-rays, it was determined that it had moved away from the nerve enough that I would probably be ok having it removed now. It was beginning to be really annoying back there, so I was definitely ready to have it pulled. I flew home to have the same dr take it out; mostly because I think he's awesome and I trust him. Nic wasn't able to come with me, so I flew home by myself. It was the longest we've ever been apart since we got married. The picture reminds me of quite a few emotions...the bandaids on my inner elbow from the repeated (and unsuccessful) attempts to hook me up to an IV. The bandaid on my hand from where they were finally able to locate a vein (painfully) to knock me out. The relief band to take the edge off the 48-hour nausea I endured from the anesthesia, the ice pack to calm the swelling on my face and the gauze to stop the bleeding. I layed in that bed for days. I couldn't even watch TV or movies because the nausea was so bad. All this for one wisdom tooth? I'm not sure what this says about me.

April Part 1
time for catch up
I don't know why I do this...I allow so much time to pass between posts and then I have to go back and remember everything that happened and post catch-up posts. Sorry, I correct myself...I rarely go back and catch-up. But for some reason I have felt the need to do some updating. So here we go...
